CLUB GENERAL MANAGER FUTURE LEADER PROGRAMME
The Club General Manager Future Leader training offers a solid in club ‘hands on’ training across all departments of the business with feedback and support throughout.
The course is mandatory for all new Club General Managers. The aim of the program is to provide our CGM’s with training in all areas of the business and to ensure individuals are equipped with the skills required to run and manage one of our health clubs.

Emergency Aid & Defibrillator 1 day course
In the fitness business we never know when an accident or emergency incident might happen and it is important to know what to do and how to react in certain situations. This certificated one-day course is provided by an external First Aid Training Company and will provide you with the knowledge, confidence and skills to enable you to take the right action in the case of Emergency Aid or needing to operate a Defibrillator. The certificate will be valid for one year.
Financial Administration
It is true that we work hard for our money in this business – which provides us with a perfect reason for being as good as we can be at control and looking after it! The skills of financial administration are also very useful to apply in our private lives, so your learning on this course will be well used. This one-day session addresses the basics, starting with monitoring income through controlling club expenditure. Participants will be able to create effective banking systems within the club, interpret data and use the information to manage a successful business.

Front Desk Revenue
This half-day session is for any club employee. All individuals within the Club environment have an opportunity to increase front desk revenue. To do this effectively you will need to understand the purpose of supplements and how they complement a member’s workout. This course will provide delegates with details of the current product range and how to successfully promote and manage the process in compliance with the required procedures.

Insights Discovery Day One
To help you as an individual to gain a detailed understanding of your working style, how this impacts on your relationships with others in the business and how you might develop to improve your personal and professional effectiveness.
Insights Discovery Day Two
This one-day workshop begins to look at styles of behaviour. In order to begin managing differences in style and using our knowledge of others people’s behaviour to help us connect with them, we must be able to recognise types and styles of behaviour when we meet them.
Interview & Selection Skills
One of the secrets of business success is to ensure that you recruit the best possible candidates for the job. This is a process that can be managed effectively to increase the chances of a good result. This one-day course will ensure that you are able to comply with company procedure, policy and legislation regarding all aspects of recruitment and ensure you recruit the best candidates into the business.
Leadership & Coaching Programme
The most elegant and skilful leadership style of all is ‘leader as coach’ and like anything worth having, it takes time and awareness to develop. This is the course to come on if you want to really hone your skills and achieve the best possible results for you, your team and your business. Set across four half-day modules set over several months this programme allows you to use your newly acquired skills back in your club in between modules.

Managing Health & Safety
If you are a General Manager, Future Leader or Head of Department in Fitness First then this course will equip you with vital knowledge and understanding your personal responsibilities for managing Health & Safety.
Managing Performance
All managers want to manage their staff as effectively as possible and to get the best from them. Sometimes however, some people in our teams might have other ideas! This one-day course is designed to enable managers to develop confidence and knowledge in managing their staff reasonably and professionally within the parameters of Company Policy and Employment Law.
Management Skills
This is a two day programme. People are important in Fitness First, and how they are managed will have a great influence over how long they stay with us, how well motivated they are to do their jobs and how well they are developed. Our philosophy is to develop our managers, so that our managers can develop their people.
Member Relations
It is a fact that happy customers and members are easy and pleasurable to deal with on a day to day basis. Occasionally, there will be a requirement to manage a complaint or a member who is less then delighted. This half-day course will help you develop the knowledge and skills to meet and exceed customer expectations and an overall understanding of why customers complain. Through this workshop, you will have the opportunity to explore and practice the skills necessary to deal with complaints using Fitness First Company Procedure.

NASM Fitness Coach – REPS Level 2
This certification programme will provide you, as a member of our fitness team with a Register of Exercise Professional (REPS) Level 2 recognised qualification, accredited by Skills Active UK. The programme is made up of a four-day workshop, followed later by a two-day workshop which will cover and will include case studies and a theory exam plus home study via an interactive CD-Rom.
NASM Certified Personal Trainer Course – REPS Level 3
This certification programme will provide you as a member of our fitness team with a Register of Exercise Professional (REPS) Level 3 recognised Qualification, accredited by the Skills Active UK. The programme takes place over 3 x two-day workshops plus home study over a ten=week period.
This qualification covers the integrated movement of the body along with the functional anatomy and physiology. It specifically focuses on the training concepts of flexibility, cardio, core, balance, strength and power. It will help you assess with the latest postural assessment techniques and apply this knowledge to all types of members through an innovative programme design model, not forgetting nutrition; this is the complete fitness qualification.

Professional MSM Induction
The MSM Induction course will provide you with a clear understanding of the expectations of the role. It will provide you with the knowledge and skills to enable you to be successful and will also give you the tools to help you achieve it.
Professional Sales Induction
Sales skills are the single most important aspect of the Fitness First sales process. This three-day course will provide delegates with the appropriate skills to ensure they have a solid foundation to guarantee their success and take the mystery out of selling. Our philosophy in sales at Fitness First is to create winners who follow the disciplined sales process. This course will give you the knowledge and skills to be personally and commercially successful every day, by achieving outstanding performance results through the standard company sales procedures. It will also include some basic tools that will enable the member of staff to communicate, adapt and connect with members.

PT Set 4 Success
Imagine having your own business as a Personal Trainer! Over this three-day practical course you will obtain theoretical and practical skills required in setting up, running and maintaining every aspect of a successful Personal Training business and will include an exam. The training will take place in the gym and studio as well as in the classroom so please ensure you wear suitable attire.

Powerful Presentations
Sometimes, there is a necessity to get your message across to a number of people – for example at a business launch or large meeting – and the ability to deliver a credible presentation is a hallmark of a successful manager. The key skills can be easily learned and developed on this one day course: from creating your presentation, managing your audience through to neatly summing up at the end. This course will take you through the entire process and the Trainer will pass on to you a number of tips on how to appear confident and deal with unexpected situations!
Rights & Responsibilities
One of the key responsibilities of managing other people is to ensure you know the basics of Employment Law and Company Policy. This knowledge is important for your own confidence and peace of mind and is also vital to ensure that you are able to get the best possible performance from your people, for their benefit and for the business. This one-day course will enable you as a General Manager or Head of Department to develop confidence and knowledge in these areas.

Train the Trainer
This one-day course will explore what ‘Accelerated Learning’ is (the method we use here at Fitness First) and how to apply the principles when designing and delivering your training session. Common areas of concern are discussed and overcome.
